Created in April 2014, Queen Daveed was established by two females, Deja "D. Marie" Smith (@dMUHrie) and Nicole "Danielle Joy" Williams (@DanielleJoyqd). Having met in a local studio, these ladies caught on to their music chemistry instantly. D. Marie was an upcoming singer looking for a producer that was musically inclined and Danielle Joy was looking for a dedicated artist.

 

D. Marie and Danielle Joy realized that they had something special. Not only can they create music from the ground up, they are females that can provide music production, song writing, and audio engineering. Shortly after, they decided to make "Queen Daveed" a one-stop shop production duo for any musical need. A lot of the music that they would share with their peers was received with surprise. Many could not believe that females could create music of abstract sound that kept the listener wanting more.

 

Throughout their existence, Danielle Joy and D. Marie's sound is heavily influenced by classic soul and R&B greats. Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, and Earth Wind and Fire. They both come from a gospel background which plays apart in their sync sound. Current artists that Queen Daveed aspire to are Pharrell, Kanye West, Jazmine Sullivan and Brandy.

 

These ladies have the passion, the fight, and the grind to prove themselves as the next rising music production duo, singer/songwriter, and musician. Hence their underdog name "Queen Daveed." Queen meaning female and Daveed deriving from the bible story of David and Goliath. Everyone thought he would lose against the giant, but to much surprise, he rose to the occasion.
